Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 18, 2026
These Terms are a contract between you and Counsl (the "Seller", "we", "us"), the provider of the Counsl service ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Counsl provides AI-generated summaries, clause extraction, risk flags, chat, and comparison for legal documents you upload. Output is generated by machine learning models and may contain errors.
2. Not legal advice
Counsl is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Output is informational only and does not create an attorney–client relationship. Always have a qualified lawyer review any document before you rely on it.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 16 and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not upload content you don't have the right to process.
- Do not use the Service to violate the law, infringe IP, or harm others.
- Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service.
- Do not use output to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects without human review.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of documents you upload. You grant Counsl a limited licence to store and process them solely to provide the Service to you.
6. Plans, billing & referrals
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com Market Ltd. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax and cancellation mechanics are governed by the Paddle Buyer Terms.
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Refunds are offered under our Refund Policy (30-day money-back guarantee). Referral credits and promo codes have no cash value and may be revoked for abuse. Prices may change with notice.
7. Termination
You may cancel any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for the Service or other users.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that output is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Counsl's total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
